More visits to NZ hospital emergency rooms

More than 1.4 million visits are made to New Zealand hospital emergency rooms each year, up 21 percent since 2015-16, according to doctors' group the Australasian College for Emergency Medicine in its first State of Emergency report. Using Health New Zealand figures from 40 hospitals, it says the population grew 13 percent over the same time.
