Burnham would scrap pension triple lock after 2030 to pay for care

Prime Minister Andy Burnham said he would end the pension triple lock from April 2030, after the next election. He told Labour conference the guarantee — pensions rise by prices, wages or 2.5% — would stay until then. After 2030, he said, the wages link would go. Officials said it could save £15bn a year by 2040 to fund care.
