OpenAI announced Dots, a personal assistant that works toward goals on its own, at DevDay in San Francisco on September 29, 2026. CEO Sam Altman unveiled it in the keynote. Powered by the GPT-6 Astra model, Dots run in the background with little supervision and work across different devices and apps.
