Burnham plan to change how pensions rise to pay for care

Prime Minister Andy Burnham said he would change pension pay for older people from April 2030, after the next election. He told Labour conference the rule — like taking the highest of prices, wages or 2.5% — would stay until then. Afterwards, he said, wages would go. Officials said it could save £15bn a year by 2040 for care.
