Cornell Rape Case Reopened for Grand Jury Review

Tompkins County District Attorney Matthew Van Houten will reopen the criminal inquiry into the alleged 2024 rape at Cornell and bring it to a grand jury — a citizen panel that decides if charges are warranted. The step follows a Sept. 16 lawsuit alleging drugging and assault at the Chi Phi house. Cornell says it supports a review.
