Prosecutor to Reopen Cornell Fraternity Rape Inquiry for Grand Jury

Tompkins County District Attorney Matthew Van Houten said prosecutors will reopen the criminal inquiry into the alleged 2024 rape at Cornell and present it to a grand jury, which decides whether to bring charges. The action follows a Sept. 16 lawsuit alleging drugging and assault at the Chi Phi house. Cornell said it supports review.
