Police rejected watchdog calls to charge staff in 13 cases

Police did not charge staff in 13 cases where the Independent Police Conduct Authority, the police watchdog, recommended charges over the past three years, according to papers reported by RNZ. Police ran 272 criminal investigations into staff in that time, laying charges in 86. The papers say police and the Authority disagreed on 17 charging decisions.
