Activision Takes Over Halo as Xbox Reorganization Cuts Halo Studios

Activision will take over Halo under an Xbox reorganization Microsoft detailed September 22, 2026. Most Halo Studios staff will be laid off rather than transferred to Activision. A reduced team will stay on to support Halo Infinite and Halo: Combat Evolved.
