LNG terminal decision pushed past election

The Government will not decide on backing a new LNG import terminal until after the election, the ACT and New Zealand First leaders said after a Cabinet committee meeting. They said no contract will be signed before polling day. The plan had been to sign earlier so the terminal, for importing gas as dry-year cover, could open by mid-2028.
