After a fan posted a clip of 'Witch v Witch' on X on 1 September 2026, Charli XCX wrote 'i thinkkkkkk this is me and grimes.' Grimes replied that she 'very hazily' remembered writing it but could not recall the session. Charli XCX placed it at Grimes's Los Angeles home 'quite a long time ago.' Neither artist confirmed an official release. Billboard reported the exchange.
