Metropolitan Museum cancels 2027 Costume Institute exhibition on John Galliano

The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York has cancelled its planned 2027 Costume Institute exhibition honouring fashion designer John Galliano. A French court found Galliano guilty of antisemitic behaviour in 2011 after racist remarks captured on video. The planned Met Gala-linked show drew weeks of backlash from the Jewish community and beyond. The museum has not named a replacement subject.
