Universal Music Latino launches first major-label platform for Cuba's reparto genre

Universal Music Latino announced on Aug. 31 a partnership with streamer YaBoyyWill to launch "Toma Este Reparto!", a platform connecting Cuban reparto artists with Universal executives and studio access. Reparto — a genre blending reggaeton, hip-hop, timba, rumba and Cuban clave — emerged from Cuba's barrios in the early 2000s. First sessions are set for Miami in September.
