China's year-to-date box office stood at $4.13 billion as of late August 2026, down 28.1% from the same point in 2025, according to Artisan Gateway data reported by Variety. The mainland market grossed $69.8 million across the Aug. 28–30 frame. Sony's Spider-Man: Brand New Day, at $225.7 million, remained the year's top Hollywood import in the territory.
