Finnish Film Affair replaces 'Finnish Weird' with pan-Nordic Genre Lab showcase

Finnish Film Affair partly replaces its "Finnish Weird" section with a Nordic Genre Lab showcase, broadening genre pitching from a national to a regional scope. Eight Nordic genre films in development will compete for best pitch on 24–25 September 2026 in Helsinki. The Lab is co-founded by Laura Laaksonen of Purr PR and former Netflix executive Claire Willats of Two Magpie Entertainment, per Variety.
