Pokémon: Wild Card announced as franchise's first anime film since 2020, teaser targets 2027

The Pokémon Company president Tsunekazu Ishihara announced Pokémon: Wild Card, a feature-length anime film, at the 2026 Pokémon World Championships closing ceremony in San Francisco. A teaser labels the film "coming 2027 and beyond." It is the franchise's first movie since Secrets of the Jungle, which reached Japanese cinemas in 2020. No firm release date or distribution plan has been disclosed.
