Novak Djokovic's pursuit of a record 25th Grand Slam singles title ended in the US Open first round on 31 August 2026. Argentina's Mariano Navone won 7-6(5), 5-7, 4-6, 6-2, 6-1 over four hours 36 minutes on Arthur Ashe Stadium. The 39-year-old Djokovic vomited repeatedly and fought cramps. A milestone no player in tennis history has reached now eludes him again.
