King Harald V's funeral set for 9 September at Oslo Cathedral

The Norwegian Royal Court has set King Harald V's funeral for Wednesday 9 September 2026, 1:00 pm at Oslo Cathedral. Harald died on 28 August at Rikshospitalet, aged 89, after a 35-year reign — the longest since the union with Sweden dissolved in 1905. Olav Fykse Tveit, President of the Church of Norway, and Bishop Sunniva Gyvler of Oslo will conduct the service.
