Federer inducted into Tennis Hall of Fame, moved to tears in Newport

Roger Federer was inducted into the International Tennis Hall of Fame on 29 August 2026 in Newport, Rhode Island. The Associated Press reported he was moved to tears numerous times during his speech. Federer, who retired in 2022 with 20 Grand Slam singles titles, called it "one of the greatest honours" of his life. Broadcaster Mary Carillo was inducted alongside him.
