Hrgovic stops Itauma in nine to become Croatia's first heavyweight champion

Filip Hrgovic (22-1) stopped 21-year-old Moses Itauma in the ninth round at The O2 Arena in London on 29 August 2026 to win the vacant IBF heavyweight title. The 34-year-old Olympic bronze medallist becomes the first Croatian heavyweight world champion. Itauma, a heavy favourite, suffers the second defeat of his professional career.
