Picturehouse first UK chain to refuse Ali G sequel amid boycott campaign

UK chain Picturehouse Cinemas told campaign group NewsCord it is not planning to screen "Ali G: Who Iz I?", Sacha Baron Cohen's Amazon MGM mockumentary sequel due 23 October 2026. NewsCord sent over 40,000 emails urging at least 15 cinema chains worldwide to refuse the film, calling the Ali G character a racist caricature of Jamaican culture (Deadline, 29 August 2026).
