Umpires abandon Lord's play for bad light with sky dry and light holding, an hour before close

Umpires Paul Reiffel and Allahuddien Parker abandoned play at Lord's at 18:30 BST on day three of England's second Test against Pakistan, citing bad light. The sky stayed dry and light held good until the 19:30 scheduled close. The crowd booed; former England captain Nasser Hussain called the decision "a joke" on Sky Sports. Only 24.5 overs were bowled all day.
