Nashville Airport Proposed for Renaming as Dolly Parton International, Days After Her Death

Tennessee Governor Bill Lee and the Metro Nashville Airport Authority proposed renaming Nashville International Airport (BNA) as Dolly Parton International Airport on 28 August 2026, three days after Parton's death from cancer on 25 August, per her team. The MNAA naming policy and the proposal are scheduled for discussion on 17 September 2026. A public petition has drawn over 164,000 signatures.
