Broadway Producer James Walsh, Who Backed 'I'm Not Rappaport' and 'The Heidi Chronicles,' Dies at 89

James Walsh, a Broadway producer and general manager with 46 mainstem credits, died of sepsis August 27, 2026, in New York City at 89. His wife, casting director Juliet Taylor, announced the death. Walsh produced two Tony-winning Best Plays: "I'm Not Rappaport" (1986) and the Pulitzer-winning "The Heidi Chronicles" (1989). His first credit, "The Watering Hole" (1969), opened and closed the same day.
