Alcaraz returns at US Open after tenosynovitis wiped out four months and three Slams
Carlos Alcaraz plays his first competitive match in four months at the US Open, seeded second and defending his 2025 title. Tenosynovitis — inflammation of the tendon sheath in his right wrist — forced withdrawals from Madrid, Rome, Roland Garros, Wimbledon and Cincinnati. His 2026 record stood at 22-3 when the injury stopped him. The US Open is only his second Slam this year.
