Disney+ Lands Pokémon Distribution Deal, Greenlights Aardman Stop-Motion Series

Disney+ secured a global distribution deal with The Pokémon Company International, announced at Pokémon XP on 28 August 2026 (Deadline). Classic series "Pokémon the Series: The Beginning" is already streaming on Disney+ and airing on Disney XD. The deal also greenlit "Pokémon Tales: The Misadventures of Sirfetch'd & Pichu," a stop-motion series from Aardman, debuting on Disney XD and Disney+ in 2027. No episode count or deal terms were disclosed.
