Aardman to produce Pokémon stop-motion series for Disney XD and Disney+ in 2027

The Pokémon Company International has commissioned Aardman — the British studio behind Wallace & Gromit — to produce "Pokémon Tales: The Misadventures of Sirfetch'd & Pichu," a stop-motion series debuting on Disney XD and Disney+ in 2027. Tom Parkinson directs; Nat McKay leads IP development. The series follows Sirfetch'd and Pichu through the Galar Region. Variety reported the deal on 28 August 2026.
