Diamond necklace of Egyptian Queen Nazli stolen from Vienna's MAK museum

Two thieves bought tickets, smashed a display case at the MAK — the Museum of Applied Arts in Vienna — and fled with a Van Cleef & Arpels platinum necklace set with 673 diamonds, valued at US$4.3 million. Queen Consort Nazli of Egypt wore it at her daughter Fawzia's 1939 wedding to Iran's Crown Prince. Police were still searching for the suspects as of 28 August 2026, ORF reported.
