
BMG's $1.8 Billion Catalogue Spree: 14 Assets in Six Months, Record Half for Rights Deals
BMG bought roughly 14 publishing and recorded music assets in the first half of 2026, its biggest single-half rights investment ever, Billboard reported on 28 August. Rights acquired span Jelly Roll, Jet, Snap! co-founder Luca Anzilotti and the Chess Records-linked Fuji Music Group. Total spending since 2021 reaches $1.8 billion via Bertelsmann's Boost programme.
