Chris Sussman named BBC Director of Comedy

Chris Sussman has been named the BBC's next Director of Comedy, the top comedy commissioning role in British television, Deadline reports. He replaces Jon Petrie, who is leaving for Hat Trick Productions. Sussman previously led BBC Studios' comedy slate and was Netflix's Director of UK Scripted Series from 2019 to 2022. He starts next month, reporting to BBC Chief Content Officer Kate Phillips.
