Werro runs third-fastest 800m in history, 0.42 off the oldest record in track and field
Audrey Werro ran 1:53.70 over 800m at the Zurich Diamond League on 27 August 2026 — the third-fastest women's time ever. The 22-year-old Swiss runner now sits 0.42 seconds from Jarmila Kratochvilova's world record of 1:53.28, set in 1983 and the oldest mark in track and field. Werro owns four of the all-time top-10 800m times, all clocked this summer.
