Tasmania Devils finish fourth, make VFL finals in debut season

Tasmania Devils have made VFL finals in their inaugural 2026 season, finishing fourth. After a round loss to Carlton, they won seven of their last 10. VFL boss Aaron Pidgeon: "Anyone who predicted we'd play finals in our first year was kidding themselves." The AFL had privately resisted the side over competitiveness and $2M cost. They face minor premiers Geelong at GMHBA Stadium on August 29.
