Edinburgh confirms replacement TV festival after Edinburgh TV Festival exits for Manchester after 51 years

Edinburgh will get a new television festival after the Edinburgh TV Festival confirmed its relocation to Manchester following 51 years in the city. Screen Scotland funded initial development work completed in early summer 2026. Former ETVF creative director Rowan Woods leads the next phase, delivered through The Fringe Society, with consultation ending early spring 2027 and a pilot planned for August 2027.
