'The Murder of Benjamin' to Close 54th Haugesund Film Festival
Ingvild Søderlind's film reconstructing the 2001 neo-Nazi killing of 15-year-old Benjamin Hermansen — Norway's first racially motivated murder — will close the 54th Norwegian International Film Festival in Haugesund. Produced by Thomas Robsahm at Nordisk Film Production, with international sales handled by TrustNordisk, the closing-night slot places the drama before buyers and distributors who decide which Nordic films travel beyond their borders. Søderlind told Variety the killing was "a wake-up call for the whole nation."
