Menace II Society actor Samuel Monroe Jr. dies at 52 after mother sought conservatorship in final days

Samuel Monroe Jr., whose breakout came in New Line's 1993 Menace II Society, died at 52 on 27 August 2026, his mother Joyce Patton confirmed via Facebook (The Hollywood Reporter). Monroe spent nine months in hospitals with severe meningitis and pneumonia, on life support. Days before his death, Patton filed for court-directed conservatorship to make final care decisions, TMZ reported (The Hollywood Reporter).
