Odessa Young tapped for Charlene in Heat 2; newcomer Maria Cid is Mann's pick for Gabi

Michael Mann has chosen Odessa Young to play Charlene — the role Ashley Judd originated in 1995 — in Heat 2, with newcomer Maria Cid his top pick for Gabi, Deadline reported on 27 August 2026. Both are in negotiations. If deals close they join Leonardo DiCaprio, Christian Bale, Adam Driver, Stephen Graham and Jason Clarke. Amazon MGM releases; cameras roll in November.
