
Powerhouse CEO stands aside under investigation two months before A$915 million Sydney museum opens
Lisa Havilah, chief executive of Sydney's Powerhouse museum, stood aside on 27 August 2026 pending investigations into governance and procurement, announced by NSW arts minister John Graham. Powerhouse Parramatta, an A$915 million project, is scheduled to open on 7 November 2026. Trust president David Borger said the opening will proceed as planned. NSW government architect Abbie Galvin takes over as interim chief executive.
