IFC and Sapan Studio Acquire North American Rights to 'Tangles,' Targeting Oscar-Qualifying Run

Independent Film Company and Sapan Studio have acquired North American rights to "Tangles," a hand-drawn animated feature about a family facing early-onset Alzheimer's, Variety reported on 27 August 2026. The deal, negotiated by IFC's Ayo Kepher-Maat with UTA and CAA repping the filmmakers, plans an Oscar-qualifying theatrical run before year's end, followed by wider expansion in early 2027.
