RFU seeks to quintuple Twickenham concert days and lift crowd cap to 75,000
The RFU has asked Richmond council to expand Twickenham's non-sporting events from three concerts a year to up to 15 event days, raising maximum capacity from 55,000 to 75,000. A council decision is due in October. Public consultation closed with 456 objections against 240 in favour. Revenue would help fund a £660m stadium overhaul and £500m of rugby investment over five years.
