Prime Video greenlights first U.K.-produced Stephen King adaptation, 'Crouch End'

Prime Video has ordered a six-part limited series adapting Stephen King's 1980 short story 'Crouch End' — the first King work produced for screen in the U.K. The straight-to-series commission, meaning no pilot, is written by Paul Tomalin and directed by Tom Shankland. Mammoth Screen and Fifth Season produce. No casting or premiere date is confirmed. (Variety, 27 August 2026)
