York Knights agree takeover led by David Dickson, pending RFL approval

A locally based group headed by York businessman David Dickson has agreed a majority takeover of Super League newcomers York Knights and Women's Super League side York Valkyrie, subject to RFL approval. Outgoing chairman Clint Goodchild, who oversaw York's historic first promotion last year, departs with the Knights 12th, two points above the relegation places. Neil Gulliver will become chief executive.
