StudioCanal Spent $29 Million Restoring 1,000 Films for New Classics Label
StudioCanal has invested close to €25 million ($29 million) over seven years into 4K restorations of nearly 1,000 classic features, the Canal+ subsidiary told The Hollywood Reporter. Five restored titles premiered at this year's Festival de Cannes. The restoration programme underpins StudioCanal Classics, a new global label built on more than 18,000 titles — what the company calls the largest film library outside the United States.
