NRL rewrites interchange rules so MND-diagnosed Jai Arrow can reach 100 Rabbitohs appearances

The NRL has approved one-off rule changes letting South Sydney carry an extra interchange so Jai Arrow, who medically retired in May after a motor neurone disease diagnosis, can take the field in the club's final two 2026 regular-season games and reach 100 Rabbitohs appearances. Arrow, 30, will lead the team out, play the opening seconds, then move to the bench. Souths face Gold Coast away on Saturday and Sydney Roosters at home on 4 September.
