Noguchi's 40-ton Mississippi Fountain donated to New Orleans Museum of Art

A roughly 40-ton granite Isamu Noguchi sculpture, Mississippi Fountain (1961–62), will be lifted about 40ft by crane, secured in a custom steel cage and trucked across New Orleans this autumn to the New Orleans Museum of Art (NOMA). The Besthoff family donated the dormant fountain, honouring Sydney Besthoff III, K&B executive and arts patron who died in 2022. NOMA will restore its water feature.
