Publishers to give away 200,000+ Harry Potter books on September 1

Scholastic, Bloomsbury, Pottermore and partners in ten countries will donate over 200,000 Harry Potter copies for Back to Hogwarts Day on 1 September. Scholastic sends 100,000 US copies to underserved communities; Bloomsbury donates to UK charities. Pottermore lifts all digital borrowing waitlists through September. The HBO Max adaptation of Philosopher's Stone launches the same date.
