ITV open to showing Test cricket for the first time since 1968 as ECB targets free-to-air expansion

The ECB plans more free-to-air rights packages from 2029, and ITV is open to showing Test cricket for the first time since 1968. No home Test has been broadcast free-to-air since Channel 4's 2005 Ashes coverage. Formal ECB–ITV talks are on hold pending regulatory approval of Comcast's £1.6bn ITV takeover, expected in 2027. Any cricket shown on ITV would also air live on Sky.
