Warner Bros.' shelved "Coyote vs. Acme" reaches cinemas 28 August after Ketchup's $50 million acquisition

Warner Bros. shelved the completed "Coyote vs. Acme" in November 2023, taking a $30 million tax write-off rather than releasing it. Ketchup Entertainment acquired worldwide rights in a sale valued in the $50 million range, per Deadline. The film, starring Will Forte and Lana Condor, opens theatrically on 28 August — nearly three years after its makers held what they called a "funeral screening."
