LAION Publishes 80 Million-Video Open Dataset for Multimodal AI Research

LAION released LAION-BVD on August 27, 2026: 80 million videos totaling 10 million hours, indexed via 1.3 billion platform URLs. Available through GitHub, the dataset is licensed for research use only, not commercial. BVD supports multimodal pre-training across video, audio, and image data, tackling a long-standing shortage of openly accessible video corpora at this scale.
