Shakira Pledges $1.25 Million to Rebuild Schools in Colombia's Quake-Hit Chocó

Shakira has committed $1.25 million to rebuild 10 schools and a university in Colombia's Chocó region, struck by a 7.4-magnitude earthquake on August 10 that killed at least 312 people. The pledge, per Rolling Stone, runs through her Fundación Pies Descalzos: $500,000 from Shakira and Live Nation, $500,000 from the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund, $250,000 from CAF.
