Bolivia's most visited museum to begin five-year restoration after roof neglect

The Casa Nacional de Moneda in Potosí, Bolivia's most visited museum, begins a five-year restoration in September 2026. Director Daniel Oropeza states around 60% of roofs are in critical condition after a decade without maintenance. The Inter-American Development Bank is financing roughly US$513,000 for the roof phase; the Central Bank of Bolivia covers the remainder. The museum will stay open.
