Brennan makes it two from two: 21-year-old takes Vuelta stage five

Matthew Brennan (Visma-Lease a Bike) won stage five of the 2026 Vuelta a España — 173.4km from Falset to Roquetes — ahead of Jordi Meeus and Vincenzo Albanese. The 21-year-old British debutant has now won both sprint finishes in the race, having taken stage two in Manosque. Tadej Pogačar retained his overall lead by 3min 21sec.
